“If you seek answers, you wont find them. But if you seek God, the answers will find you.” The Circle Maker

One of my favorite things about the changing seasons is reflection. One of my favorite things about social media is that it serves as a digital scrapbook – letting us remember so much more vividly and bask in the things that happened last year "on this day" and the feelings we felt that were so closely attached to the pictures we've shared and words we've posted.

Well, I’m posting more words today and the reason I think to talk about prayer. (Does anyone really know what they want to say before they start writing it? Is this just me?)

I'd never been much of a pray warrior but a little over a year ago one of my dear friends introduced me to a life-changing book with some world-rocking revelations on prayer. I decided to try it.

Lately it seems that I’ve been constantly reminded that God is way more than we make him out to be. (Duh)

He so, so good. So, so present and so, so verbal. We tend to forget, yet He still loves to insanely surprise us. He often speaks so clearly as long as we're willing to listen. He always answers prayers as long as we're willing to believe. Like, actually trust and actually believe. This is obviously easier said than done.

So last year I chose four. Four prayers I prayed for consistently and tracked closely. Four prayers I believed in, and believed God would answer. Four prayers I "drew circles around."

I was ready to wait as long as it took to hear from the Lord because you know patience is virtue and I was committing to these prayers!! Some I'd been casually praying over for years, some I chose just then. I was ready to wait but I think maybe God knows me a bit, though and easily sensed my doubting undertones and impatient heart. He answered quickly. He rocked my world. He restored my trust.

God is a fervent listener who he keeps every single promise he makes. Sometimes answers come slower than we'd want and with time, and sometimes they smack you in the face so hard you need to tell everyone you know about them! Sometimes they're different than we expected – and sometimes it's in all the best ways.

I could write a mile more of words, but as I sit here with tears welling in my eyes as I remember this past year I'll just say this:

He is the beginning. He is the end. He is eternal. Seek Him FIRST. Everything else doesn't matter all that much anyways.

“If you seek answers, you wont find them. But if you seek God, the answers will find you.” The Circle Maker

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

Much love. All the x's. All the o's.
